California adopted a law that requires online short-term hosting platforms (like vrbo.com and airbnb.com) to provide a notice to the listing party that states that if the occupant is a tenant, listing the room, home, condominium, or apartment may violate the lease and could result in legal action by landlord, including eviction. There are many local laws as well, so be sure to check your city requirements before posting your room or home to an online short-term rental platform! California Business and Professions Code §§22590, 22592 and 22594.
