Jill founded J. Eshman Law in 2005. Jill is a deeply experienced and highly responsive lawyer. She serves clients throughout Blaine County Idaho—Sun Valley, Ketchum, Hailey and Bellevue as well as in San Francisco and Los Angeles, California.
A significant part of Jill’s practice is guiding clients through the important and necessary estate planning process and trust administration. With Jill’s estate planning process, her clients and their families feel comfort that financial matters and estate planning goals have been addressed and organized to reduce stress, and that the client’s team of trusted advisors are available to counsel on a regular basis, not just in a time of crisis.
As a personal lawyer, she represents individuals investing in real estate and operating businesses and guides them through ownership issues including partnership and operating agreements, purchasing a home, an investment property, or investing in a friend’s business.
She is a member of the California State Bar, the Idaho State Bar, and the American Bar Association.
Jill is also a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.
Jill started practicing law in California as a transactional real estate attorney at Loeb & Loeb, and subsequently at Mayer, Brown & Platt. Her expertise in business law and finance was refined in her work as legal counsel for the business and entertainment banking department of Mercantile National Bank. In Idaho, Jill served as the first Hearing Examiner for Blaine County for four years.
She obtained her Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from NYU in order to give her clients more options for sophisticated estate planning and to provide tax sensitive guidance to clients in their business and real estate transactions.
A native of Los Angeles, Jill enjoys hiking, cycling and skiing with her husband and their two daughters. She is also a certified Yoga Instructor.
Jill currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation.
